Orelac Racing VerdNatura are delighted to announce that they will be competing in the 2018 WorldSBK, with the talented Argentinian Leandro ‘Tati’ Mercado. Thanks to the help and support of Arturo Scalise of Kawasaki Argentina an agreement has been agreed between the Spanish-based team for the Tati to ride a Kawasaki ZX-10RR next year.
For Orelac the step up to the WorldSBK is a big one, but one that the whole team is looking forward to with excitement. Although Orelac are going to contest the ultra-competitive WorldSBK class in 2018, they are not turning their backs on WorldSSP. For next year, they will still be in WorldSSP, with Spaniard Nacho Calero once again onboard a Kawasaki ZX-6R.
Jose Calero (Team Principle)
“The step up to WorldSBK is a big one and nobody here is underestimating the amount of hard work that has to be done. It is a very big challenge, but one that we are all excited about. When we made the decision to go to WorldSBK next year, Giulio Bardi and I were in contact with quite a few riders. Our talks with Tati were very constructive and we were able to come to a good agreement thanks to Arturo Scalise of Kawasaki Argentina”.
