Orelac Racing VerdNatura rider Nacho Calero crashed out of today’s World Supersport Championship race in Misano after thirteen laps when he lost the front end in the last corner before the start finish straight. Fortunately he was injured, but the bike was too badly damaged for him to continue.
Nacho – DNF
“The crash was a bad end to a bad weekend for me. I lost a session and my bike also suffered an electrical problem, so my track time was limited. This meant that I was way down the grid for the start of today’s 19-lap race.
I made a reasonable start and made up six places by the end of lap two. I continued to move up the field and got up to 21stby lap 10. I stayed in that position until I Iost the front into the last corner and that was that.
We have got some tests coming up and I hope that we have two days of good work and good results. We need to improve for the second part of the season and that’s what I am looking forward to.”
Giulio Bardi (Team Manager)
“Nacho has had a difficult weekend but sometimes racing is like that. We need to fix any problems and regroup. The tests coming up will give us an opportunity to work hard and improve ahead of the second part of the season.”
