Orelac Racing VerdNatura rider Nacho Calero suffered disappointment before today’s WordSSP race at Donington Park when he was forced to pull off the grid even before the start. On the inspection lap, Nacho noticed a heavy vibration from his bike. With no time to sort out the problem before the beginning of the 20-lapper, the team had to remove the bike from the grid.

“When something like this happens, there is really not much to say. I left the pit-lane and went out on the inspection lap. During the lap, I felt a vibration on the bike, so I told the mechanics about it when I got to my grid position. Unfortunately nothing could be done there and then, so we had to pull the bike off the grid and not start the race. It is a shame, because I was looking forward to the race and confident that I could’ve improved on my grid position.”
Giulio Bardi (Team Manager)
“Until we get the bike back to the workshop, we will not know exactly what the problem is with Nacho’s bike. It seems that there was a heavy vibration on the inspection lap, so we had to withdraw the bike from the grid and the race. It’s a big disappointment to Nacho and the whole team, but sometimes racing is like that.”
